Information regarding Online Grants registration or migrating your existing account to the new version of the Online Grants portal.
Access to the Culture and the Arts Online Grants portal is established when registration is completed for an Individual, Organisation or Group. During the registration process, you will create a unique password in order to securely sign in and access your account in the Online Grants portal.
If you were a registered user of Online Grants BEFORE 25 June 2021 you will need to update your details to access your existing grant funding history in the new Online Grants portal. Skip to the Existing User? section at the end of this page for further details on updating your Online Grants portal access.

How do I register for an Online Grants account?
1. What can I do in the Online Grants portal?
Once you have completed the registration process you can draft, edit and submit applications, complete contract reporting, and update your contact details.
2. Who can register to use the Online Grants portal?
A person who is over the age of 18* and who has Australian citizenship or permanent resident status can register to apply for grants via the Culture and the Arts Online Grants portal.
*If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must register and apply on your behalf.
Residency: applicants with Australian citizenship or permanent resident status who reside outside Western Australia must clearly demonstrate benefits to Western Australian artists, creatives and the local community in their application.
you are applying for funding for a one-off project or activity
you have Australian citizenship or permanent resident status
you are over the age of 18
ABN : you are encouraged to have your own Australian Business Number (ABN) as evidence of your commitment to developing and carrying on a business as a professional artist. You may apply for a grant without obtaining an ABN; however, if your grant is successful, you must supply an ABN or Statement by Supplier to enable the release of your grant funds. You can apply for an ABN at the Australian Business Register (ABR) web site: www.abr.gov.au
you are registering on behalf of the organisation you represent, and you have the authority of your organisation to do so
you have been nominated by your organisation to be the person responsible for all the day to day dealings with the department's culture and the arts division, including application submissions, contract reporting and acquittals
your organisation is either registered under law (e.g. incorporated association, company limited by guarantee) or created by law (e.g. WA university, WA public schools or government statutory authority)
your organisation has a current ABN
Your Applicant Type is Group if:
you are applying for a grant on behalf of the group you are a member of, and you have the authority of your group to do so
you have been nominated by your group to be the person responsible for all the day to day dealings with the department's culture and the arts division, including application submissions, contract reporting and acquittals
there is a current ABN in the name of the group
the group is an unincorporated body, partnership or collaborative group
4. What is your position in your Organisation or Group?
Key Contact
The Key Contact holds the sign in details to the online account and is responsible for all the day to day dealings with the department’s culture and the arts division, including submitting applications and reports. You must have permission from the organisation or group to register on Online Grants, and will be asked to provide your position when you register.
Primary Contact
If the Key Contact is not the head of the organisation or group, you will need to provide contact details for the Primary Contact. The Primary Contact is the head of the organisation* or group. All outcome notifications will be sent to the Primary Contact who will be responsible for, or ensuring that the authorised officer, signs any funding agreements.
*Local Government Authorities must provide the Chief Executive Officer as the Primary Contact.
*Schools must provide the Principal as the Primary Contact.
5. How do I register for an Online Grants account?
You will be guided through the following registration steps in the Online Grants portal.
Note: mandatory fields will be marked with an asterisk ( * ) and must be completed to progress to the next step in the registration process.
1. Click on Register on the Online Grants welcome page.
2. Existing User?
Select No if you have not previously registered for Online Grants portal access, then click Next.
IMPORTANT: If you were a registered user of Online Grants BEFORE 25 June 2021 you will need to update your details to access your existing grant funding history in the new Online Grants portal Skip to the Existing User? section at the end of this page for further details on updating your Online Grants portal access.
3. Applicant Type?
Select Individual, Organisation or Group from the options to open the correct registration form to complete.
4 . Contact Details
Phone / Mobile Phone – you must supply either a phone or mobile number.
Email Address – an email will be sent to this address with an activation link to complete your registration.
5. Declaration
Confirm you have read and agree to the department’s privacy policy then click on Register Now.
6. Activate Your Registration
You will receive an email with an activation link to finalise your registration. Click on the activation link in the email to be directed to the Redeem Invitation page.
Note: if you do not receive an email within an hour, contact Online Grants Support via email: onlinegrantsupportca@dlgsc.wa.gov.au
7. Redeem Invitation
Click on Register to activate your registration with the invitation code supplied.
Note: the invitation code is only valid for 24 hours.
8. Sign in Details
Complete your sign in details then click on Register.
Note: your password must be at least 8 characters and must contain characters from at least three of the following four classes: Uppercase, lowercase, digit, and non-alphanumeric (special). Ensure you do not include a space before or after your password.
9. Online Grants Home
You will be directed to your Online Grants portal home page. From your home page you can draft a new application and perform other common tasks.
10. Sign Out
Ensure you sign out of Online Grants after each session. Click on the drop down arrow next to your name on the top right and select Sign out.
If you were a registered user of Online Grants BEFORE 25 June 2021 you will need to update your details to access your existing grant funding history in the new Online Grants portal.
There are two ways to start this process:
1. From the Online Grants welcome page click on Sign in, then click on the text highlighted in red "CLICK HERE ". This will take you to the Existing User? page where you can follow the steps to complete the update process.
2. From the Online Grants welcome page click on Register, then select Yes under Existing User? and follow the steps to complete the update process.
Note: you will need to enter your current username and password to complete the update process. You will then be asked to confirm your contact details. Please ensure that your email address is correct as you will be sent an email to activate your account in the new portal.
